The 2017 NFL draft has a lot of talent, and a few small school prospects have emerged from the darkest depths of college football to become prime-time candidates on team’s draft boards. Here are the most enticing small school prospects.
Isaiah Jones, WR, East Carolina
Isiah Jones is stepping out of college with the most receptions in the history of FBS and polished off his college career by claiming the FBS single-season reception title before he declared for the draft. While there are obvious questions about the level of competition that “Zay” Jones played against throughout his career at East Carolina, there’s no doubt that this draft prospect is a consistent and reliable player. Considering this year’s worry about the durability to top prospects, it’s easy to see a great team taking a shot at drafting this workhorse. If Jones finds himself joining a good receiving core, he could turn out to be a matchup nightmare for defenses around the league.
Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
Corey Davis is naturally going to be questioned for his competition, but he’s been a major target of scouts after posting up three consecutive seasons with at least one thousand four hundred yards in receiving. During the same time that Isaiah Jones set records for receptions, Davis set his own FBS record for the most receptions yards in the history of FBS. Given the fact that Corey Davis has been on the radar for three years, this big-time prospect isn’t expected to slip past the top twenty. If he finds himself in the right scenario, Corey Davis could pull out some huge weeks throughout the fantasy year.
